Assaggi is a small restaurant tucked away in the heart of St.Julian’s run by chef patron Ivan Lanzon Miller and his Partner Amanda Savona.

Through their experience working in a Gordon Ramsey establishment MAZE in London, the pair gained a good insight and knowledge of creating a true dining experience from start to finish. This prompted them to open their own restaurant and share their passion for food and show off their skills in creating simple dishes with a difference.

Although chic, Assaggi has been designed to create a cosy welcoming atmosphere. This is probably why the place is ideal and versatile to cater for any occasion; be it an intimate dinner, special occasion, or a casual meal amongst friends or business colleagues. The exclusive lounge, seats from 4 to 8 people, and gives guests the liberty to benefit from a private dining experience. Assaggi boasts of its flexibility in creating the perfect mood balanced by the perfect menu.

By a careful selection of ingredients as well as artistically presenting his plates, Chef Ivan has given Assaggi’s menu an innovative edge over the others, sure to touch all your senses. The 2011 menu is refined to more classic dishes.
The chefs tasting menu may include some of the most exquisite food, such as fresh live lobster, white truffles, foie gras or our special aged beef, which is dry aged taking from 14 to 31 days till it builds it’ s special blend of flavour and tenderness. So for all meat lovers, there is a good chance this speciality is your perfect dish.

Ivan is following  worldwide trends of the sous vide cooking method with the pork belly cooked for 24 hours, another speciality enjoyed by many.
For pasta lovers, all pasta dishes are homemade. Amanda’s expertise is shown in her freshly homemade desserts. Pride and patience is needed to making absolutely delicious sweets keeping the recipes light and refreshing whilst satisfying all sweet tooth’s. Her speciality is Cassata Siciliana with a twist, served in a jar, layered with the very best- chocolate jelly, home-made sponge, sweet ricotta and topped with a marzipan lid.

Of course Assaggi has a good wine selection that complements the food whilst the staff is trained to help you choose the right wine
We love to encourage our customers to have Assaggi, taste a few starter dishes and a few main courses. By sharing a variety of plates, different flavours are tasted by all.  

Assaggi food and wine is definitely worth a visit; in fact its clients keep coming back for more! Parking is not a problem as we provide free parking, right outside the restaurant.
